1. What we collect
When you use WorthPic, we may collect:
- Account details: your email address, display name and profile picture from Google Sign-In, when you sign in.
- Photos you upload: the full-resolution photos are sent to the analysis model for that one scan. If you are signed in, a small preview image is saved with the scan in your history so you can find it again.
- Notes you type: the optional note about the item, kept with the scan result in your history.
- Usage statistics: anonymous, cookieless page-view counts through Vercel Web Analytics.
- Technical data: your IP address is used to apply the daily scan limit and to protect the service from abuse. It is not linked to your scan results.
2. How we use it
- To identify the item in your photos and give you the result.
- To show you your previous scans when you are signed in.
- To keep the service working, limit abuse and fix problems.
- To reply if you contact us.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your photos to train models.
3. Services we rely on
- Google Firebase: sign-in and storage of your account and scan history.
- Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini) APIs: the analysis itself. Photos are sent securely and used only for that scan.
- Vercel: hosting and cookieless usage statistics.
4. How long we keep it
Full-resolution photos are processed in real time and not retained. A small preview image, the note and the result are stored with each scan in your history (up to 50 scans per account) for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual scans or ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time. Scans made without signing in are not stored.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR (Norwegian and EU privacy law) you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Object to or restrict how we process it.
- Receive a copy of it in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, email us at fredrik.oeen@gmail.com.
6. Cookies and local storage
We set no tracking or advertising cookies, and the usage statistics are fully cookieless, so there is no cookie banner. Your browser's local storage holds only functional preferences such as the theme. Signing in with Google uses the strictly necessary session storage that login needs to work.
7. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top tells you when it last changed. If you keep using WorthPic after a change, that counts as accepting the updated policy.
